Petra! A little shape-shifting teen based on a fictional tiger species, the smallest and rarest called the Full-Striped Tiger- the size of a golden retriever, they’re solitary fluffballs who eat small mammals and hunt at dusk and dawn.
Petra herself has limited shapeshiftting capabilities, and tends to wake up every morning with a new form variant that she accidentally developed in her sleep. However, there are times when she has been known to shift of her own volition successfully, although her changes are still limited to arms, tail, and legs. She also displays a fur-color choice known as a “fruit coat”, or “candy coat”- a shape-shifter’s form(s) is often most flexible at early childhood, being developed alongside their experiences and interests until it finally solidifies, and that can result in bright colors that, although unnatural, are a remnant of childhood preferences and favorites.Petra, as an individual, is an adventurous and curious little gal with a tendency to get in (unintentional) trouble and have her exploration come back to bite her. She’s an expert parkour-er, using her shifting to assist her in climbing and maneuvering difficult terrain and can often be found in places she probably shouldn’t be (on top of small buildings, tents, tall trees, etc). She’s also a decent guitarist and grows up to join a popular band, making a name for herself as she goes through adulthood. Tyre Nichols was loved by his community and was known to be gentle, kind, and joyful. He loved skating and was originally from the Bay Area in California. He was known as someone “you know when he comes through the door he wants to give you a hug” and that “he wouldn’t hurt a fly.”
“He had never been in trouble with the law, not even a parking ticket. He was an honest man, a wonderful son, and kind to everyone. He was quirky and true to himself, and his loss will be felt nationally.”
I know so many of us are searching for ways to support Tyre’s family tonight. This is the only confirmed fundraiser being coordinated by his mother; the proceeds of which will go towards a memorial skate park and mental health services for his son and parents.
Please, please do not force yourselves to watch the footage. You are not obligated to consume trauma.
